When you are ready to release yourself from repetitive dieting or overeating, the following exercise will guide you through the process of identifying, respecting and satisfying your hunger as well as re-learning to honor yourself and trust your own word. I have also added movement and strength training as a reminder and as a way to honor your body.
Recognize and acknowledge the damage that dieting causes
Be aware of dieting mentality and thinking:
Forget Willpower
Forget Obedience
Forget Failure
Instead, create a winning personal plan
Get rid of all dieting tools
Listen to yourself and honor your hunger
Practice eating naturally
Make peace with food
Buy and enjoy the foods you like
Regain your pleasure in eating:
Ask yourself what you really want to eat?
Discover the pleasures of the palate
Make your eating experience more enjoyable
Don’t settle, check in:
Does it still taste good?
Also:
Drink 8 glasses of water a day
Engage in a choice of:
Aerobic Activity 5-6 times a week
Commit to Strength Training 2-3 times a week
